Software Engineering Standards
Software Engineering (SE) is like any other discipline of engineering has standards that dictate the practices which are proven successful. Software Engineering is still in its infancy state compared to electrical or civil engineering.

Standards guide software engineers on how reliable, extensible and usable software can be developed using the least amount of resources and leading to low cost of software development. The major standard setting bodies for Software Engineering are:

  • IEEE

  • ISO

  • Software Engineering Institute (SEI)

Spry has first started working with SE standards in late 1980's. Over the years Spry has instituted software processes in several organizations, helped companies meet SEI CMM and/or ISO standards. But more importantly Spry has helped organizations retain technical personnel, increase moral of software development teams and meet customer expectations better.
